I first became involved with DELTA in 1997, when, together with my wife Avril, and our sons Daniel, who is severely deaf, and his younger brother Christopher, who is hearing, we attended, the South Summer school in Colchester. We were so impressed by the help, support, and valuable information that we were given, that we decided to become members, and try to give something back.

In 2000 we helped organise the Taunton “Read Around Britain” event, at Waterstones bookshop, which was a great success, and since 2003 we have returned to the annual Summer Schools in Winchester, as helpers, which Daniel in particular, looks forward to each year, as he gets to meet up with all his old friends! Daniel is also a bit of a performer, and likes to throw himself into the events with gusto, and especially enjoys the opportunity to tell the parents all about his experiences.

I now live in Taunton, in Somerset, where our family has now grown to 5, with the addition of my third son, Peter. I work as a Financial Adviser, and in my spare time, still manage to follow Somerset C.C.C, and Plymouth Argyle F.C.
